Find a Cartesian equation for the parabola with axis parallel to the $y$ -axis and which passes through the points $(0,1)$ , $(1,0)$ , and $(2,0)$ .

The equation is (x-a)^2 = 4c(y-b). Plugging in the given 3 points we get to the solution in the book.
