Find a formula for the derivative of the function

    \[ f(x) = \frac{1}{2 + \cos x}. \]

Using the quotient rule for derivatives,

    \[ f'(x) = \frac{(1)'(2+\cos x) - (1)(2 + \cos x)'}{(2+\cos x)^2} = \frac{\sin x}{(2+\cos x)^2}. \]
